The Alhambra and Albacin in Granada

The palaces and gardens of the Alhambra and the Generalife have long been considered one of the modern wonders of the world, and many people come to Spain from all over the world especially to visit them. The Alhambra was not only the palace of the Nasrid kings from the 14th. century, but also an almost fortified town with a large complex of government buildings overlooking the town of Granada. The gardens of the Generalife are a marvelous celebration of beauty and pleasure.

The Albacin is an exciting maze of alleys, lanes and steps, crowded white houses, stone and brick walled gardens, and mysterious private villas - one day would not be enough to experience its atmosphere and enjoy a very unhurried meal in any of several really special restuarants tucked away in this beautiful place.
